The first thing that strikes you as you walk through the door of Clean and Green in Epping and Upminster is that is so, well, clean.

Accustomed as we are to small dark drycleaning units, the 800 square foot shops are light and open plan with its bank of Miele washing and drying machines proudly on display, rather than hidden out the back. Also on display is a full range of Veit finishing equipment, which has had the passers by pressing their noses against the window even before the official opening. Of course the obligatory spotting table is there to one side.
